Hi.
Finally switched to MSFS2020. Long-time Active Sky user.
I have a simple question.
Should I have
  • Weather Mode: Set to Preset (when using Active Sky Active Mode) or leave as Live Weather (if you set Active Sky to "Passive Mode").
Thanks

Hello Edin,

Have you checked the User Documentation in the AS_FS\Documentation Folder? Page 21.

Please DO NOT change weather presets or enable live weather within MSFS itself, or ASFS
control may be lost and proper weather depiction by ASFS will not be possible. Please
allow ASFS to control the preset/live weather mode settings and all weather condition
settings at all times while ASFS is running.

No problem.

Let me know if that helps.

Dear Dave.
So I turned off Live Weather and didn't touch presets, but the weather does not look as it should, or CAVOK means clear sky.
With MSFS Live weather, I have some clouds like in reality. When I deactivate Active Sky and use MSFS Live weather, it looks more real.
Weather:
METAR LDZA 232200Z 22003KT CAVOK 09/05 Q1019 NOSIG

Clear sky in the sim.
In reality, I have some clouds.
Any suggestion

Thanks

Edin

ASFS uses different computations, data and algorithms to determine unspecified (e.g. CAVOK) clouds. This can be more realistic, similar, or less realistic depending on many factors.

You can use MSFS live weather with ASFS, using passive mode, if you prefer, to still obtain ASFS client and full air effects features.
