Active Sky XP

I have Active Sky XP ,UWXP 2.5 and XPLANE
I use Active Sky in P3D4.5 with SkyForce and EnvForce
My Active Sky has absolute control over Weather settings in P3D4.5 ie if I set 1/8 Cirrus at 10000-there it is in the sim
Not so in XPLANE
I set conditions in the Active Sky Map and the have to go into Weather screen in XPlane to set clouds etc
Active Sky XP is active but I must be doing something wrong
Enable Global Static depiction is unchecked
Anything I could try?

Yes did that but did not seem to work for me
Gone to Global Static depiction mode and manual configuration in XPlane weather screen
No nearly so much control on clouds etc as P3D version gave me but will have to do.
Must say I find Guide a little difficult to interpret
1) Start XPlane and chose metal option
2) Close XPlane? Yes
3) Start ASXP and set weather
4) Start sim
Am I doing it right?
Thanks for all the help -will get there!

This is what I do,

- Start X-Plane
- Start ASXP
- Configure flight, choosing aircraft, location and weather (set desired weather - live or historical)
- Do not close ASXP

This is from page 7 of the ASXP User's Guide:

Start X-Plane and Configure X-Plane Weather Mode

X-Plane's weather mode needs to manually be changed to Custom METAR mode
when using the ASXP default weather mode. This is done in the Flight configuration
screen, weather options. Change the dropdown mode to "From custom METAR
(.rwx) file", and choose the METAR.rwx file shown.

Slightly confused by seeming two starts to XPLANE in your instructions
This point was confusing to me in the Instruction page
Do you close XPLANE down after choosing Metar and restart after a ASXP initiation or is it running all the time from the initial start?
I have two stages in my Xplane start ie
1) Initiate Xplane
2) Resume or new flight
Do I do 1and 2 before starting ASXP?
Thanks for your help -almost there
I have been opening XPLANE -choosing Metar and closing it and initiating ASXP then opening XPlane again -doesn’t work
Will try opening Xplane -stages 1and 2 -leave it running -then open ASXP -chose Metar file in XPlane and see what happens
Perhaps I should be opening ASXP after stage 1 of XPLANE opening?

PS Thanks for sticking with me
Your product is so good in P3D that I would like to emulate the setup in XPlane if possible

Hello,

No, I start X-Plane and ASXP (Active Sky X-Plane).

Leave both programs running.

Thanks for clearing that up
Still do not get desired result
Have to manually edit XPlane via Weather screen to get desired clouds
ASXP fine control not there
Occasionally small Weather screen goes “Clear” in XPlane as it should if ASXP has control-effect does not last
Tell me-is the Custom Metar I select in XPlane (which I am currently using)or somewhere in ASXP?
Thanks for all your help and advice-nearly there!

Hello,

To add weather please see below:

Start X-Plane and Configure X-Plane Weather Mode

X-Plane's weather mode needs to manually be changed to Custom METAR mode
when using the ASXP default weather mode. This is done in the Flight configuration
screen, weather options. Change the dropdown mode to "From custom METAR
(.rwx) file", and choose the METAR.rwx file shown.
