Extended test AS P3D5 Beta - Unnatural ground haze with clear skies

Hello,

I'm running P3D5 HF2 with enhanced atmospheric on together with ActiveSky P3D Beta 7487. No add-ons for shaders or sky/cloud textures. Running P3D completely stock except for ORBX Base+LC together with some add-on airports and FSLabs A320.

I know that enhanced atmospheric and ActiveSky is in beta but I have notices something that I want to give feedback on.

I have made some tests during the past ten days or so and made a few test flight together with some static tests at airports and areas reporting clear sky, with vis 9999+ and I always have a low level haze just above the ground. Dosen't matter where in the world I am (Scenery airports or stock), time of the day/year or if clouds are reported from ground level, overcast at 10.000 feet or if no clouds detected.

I have attached a few photos from the sim from different days, different places and during different times of the day. Doesn't matter what I do or change in the P3D/AS settings, I always have this layer of haze everywhere over ground level.

I have seen some other posts about this in the open beta forum as well but I just wanted to expanded with my feedback.

/Simon

That "haze" is probably beyond the control of HiFi. It is that hazy with the default trueSky atmospheric settings in even simple C programs that use the trueSky SDK. My uneducated guess is that it has something to do with the Rayleigh Effect and LM needs to fine tune those settings. Or they should provide enhanced PDK access to the trueSky SDK

Just to clarify,

The haze is only present with ActiveSky P3D beta running so it's not this hazy default with TrueSky. I have attached some photos here where you can see the difference from TrueSky with clear sky selected and TrueSky with ActiveSky running with 9999+ vis and NCD. I have a hard time believing that the problem is beyond the control of HiFi as it's only present with AS P3D running.

I have no problem with some haze in the horizon as this is natural but this "ground haze" is covering from present position out to the horizon at all times during all different phases of flight during all types of wether and time of the day.

First photos is with TrueSky enabled with "Clear Sky" selected
Second photo is with TrueSky enabled with ActiveSky running during 9999+ vis and NCD conditions.

We acknowledge this does not work as intended, but given that TrueSky (EA) mode is still a work in progress from LM, we need to see what will be changed by them first in order to adjust our depiction accordingly.

Hope this makes sense

Any update on this? It's clear that the haze is only present with AS P3D.. Is there any way to just turn off the haze and still use AS?
