Any better then 9? It seems like after the last few windows updates 9 has been running like sheet.

I was thinking of 11 but it hasn't been out long enough and I'm not into that over bloated telephone look on the desktop.

Hi Dave,,

I've had issues with IE 9 & 10 and have been reverting to IE8 as the base install even though I use Chrome exclusively. Many of my UI's that connect to the internet including FSX have been slow to load due to IE's updates in the past. I hope IE 11 has improved connectivity.

So far 10 is running better. I was just wondering if 9 was starting to cause some of my crashes and whatnot. I know there were issues with it in the beginning.

Yes there were still some issues as far as I know. Another fix for FSX CTD's (D3D11.dll related) was to remove a MS KB Update which ended in "038", that has fixed any remaining CTD's for me all together.

Was it this one?

No it is KB2670838.

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/420211-fix-d3d11dll-and-stackhash-ctds/#entry2792038

How to remove update:

Open up an Elevated Command Prompt then type the following:

wusa /uninstall /kb:2670838 and press <ENTER>

It also fixes stackhash CTD's. I have disabled Windows Updates so the offending KB cannot be installed again.
Ah the platform update. Funny though when I installed that my performace was alot better. I dont get the d3d11 errors though.

I'll try it anyway.
Thanks

Haha, that's MS for you... no PC is the same huh? Maybe it's best that you leave it then.
