Suggestion Partial weather control option

Hi Damian,

I have a suggestion, not sure if it’s viable, but I’ll take a shot anyway!

I find the MSFS24 core weather engine to be ‘OK’, but not great, as in, not to Hifi standards if you will! 😄
I find the cloud injection in MSFS24 pretty good, however, the temperature, pressure and winds (especially smoothing) is not as consistent as ASFS, so periodically, when the MSFS servers are wonky, I tend to get some pretty bad wind and barometer shifts.

I’m wondering if it would be possible to have a injection option, kind of like passive, but in which the only things ASFS controls is the winds, pressure and temperature with all the interpolation smoothing and atmospheric goodies (turbulence, thermals, advanced barometer simulation) ASFS offers, and leave MSFS24 to handle the clouds and visibility (giving the same option as current passive with clouds and visibility that are not set globally).

Ideally, the option of using historical weather would be offered too so that it can match MSFS24’s 24hr cloud model if a user so chooses (I’d be one of them).

This is slightly different than the above, but in my little world, my ideal ASFS would be to have a tab where the ability to choose which options you want ASFS to inject as tick boxes so you can pick and choose depending on what you want, with “ALL” as the default:
-all
-winds
-temperature
-pressure
-visibility
-clouds
-etc

So, if I was only wanting ASFS to inject winds, I’d click the winds box, and leave the others off.
A fully customizable ASFS if you will!!

Thanks for the consideration Damien. Still love ASFS to this day…really too bad MSFS locks you out so much.
