Resolved Unknown Publisher Warning

After installing ASN:SE, I get "Windows has found a problem with this file. Unknown Publisher" security warnings for as_btstrp_config_manager.exe and as_btstrp.dll when I start FSX:SE. I've tried removing and reinstalling ASN:SE but it doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Safe File

Hello,

That is a safe core file within ASN:SE, without it ASN:SE will not function correctly. It adds the as_srv\as_btstrp.dll_config_manager.exe into the exe.xml and the as_srv\as_btstrp.dll into the dll.xml located in your FSX AppData Roaming folder.

Please ensure that you are installing and running ASN:SE as administrator.

Thank you.

Thanks Robert. Since I purchased ASN through Steam, it was installed automatically so I'm not sure how to install or run as an administrator. At this point, I think I may just give up and request a refund. I get the error message when I start FSX:SE regardless of whether or not I run ASN first.

Hmm, have you set your computer "User Account Control" to "Never Notify"

Here's how to turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off in Windows 10:

Type UAC in the search field on your taskbar. (If the search field isn't visible, right-click the Start button and choose Search.)

Click Change User Account Control settings in the search results.

Then do one of the following:

To turn UAC off, drag the slider down to Never notify and click OK.

To turn UAC on, drag the slider up to the desired level of security and click OK.

You may be prompted to confirm your selection or enter an administrator password.

Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.

See how that works out for you.

Thanks for the additional advice. I had already tried turning off UAC, disabling virus scanning and firewall and everything else I could think of. Since I was getting frustrated, I requested a refund from Steam and purchased AS16 and ASCA and now everything is working.

Hello,

Thank you for the update. Congratulations! I am sure that you will like the AS16/ASCA combo.
