Hello
I have selected Custom weather and have created an overcast layer in ASFS.
However, it is not depicting in MSFS2024

In MSFS2024 I have the toolbar ASFS active and the weasther is set to ActiveSky FS weather Preset. in the cloud diagram in the weather dialog in msfs2024 it shows the cloud layer but in the sim there are no clouds, no winds - nothing.

Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

You can open a support ticket if you want so we can check your setup.

Which version of MSFS 2024 are you running?
Is it MSFS2024 SU4 Official or SU5/Beta?

Also if you are running SU4 Official did you ever have SU5 Beta installed?

Thanks. I'll open a ticket but for now I DID have SU5 beta installed but rolled back to SU4. Should I do a reinstall of AS?

This seems to indicate a problem with the sim itself, possibly due to another add-on. Are you able to get any clouds at all using the normal in-sim weather panel with ASFS disabled?

I get clouds when I use MSFS weather. Have no other weathe ror texture add ons. And ASFS makes clouds in live mode. Just not in manual

Can you show what you are using for manual weather configuration? Also a screenshot of the conditions screen after configuring weather? Thanks.

I'll answer in more detail in the support ticket. But the issue here is you were setting the cloud layers below the surface as the elevation is 4000ft+ and you chose 700MSL cloud layers. For design reasons (including the fact that multiple regions with variable terrain require MSL consistency), manual weather is MSL based. So if your elevation is 4000ft and you want 700ft ceilings you need to specify 4700ft altitude.
