Resolved Active Sky Stuck?

Hey,

Looking for some help/advice. I just swapped from SFS 2020 to MSFS 2024. Cleaned out my folders for Active Sky and did a fresh install. Since, it isn't loading at all in the sim. I have the simulator weather set to 'custom', active sky is allowed via Windows Defender and I opened the TCP port for it.

I open Active Sky before the sim which used to work fine in 2020 version. Now, I just keep getting stuck on 'waiting for simulator' & 'populating weather stream' (screenshot below).

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Same issue here. Active Sky won't start properly. seems stuck.
When I retry I get this message and the cycle repeats.

Currently unable to use ActiveSky, it's stuck in "Populating Weather Stream".

We're aware of an issue with DataNet downloads and actively investigating. Please uncheck "Force DataNet downloads" in general options. After setting this, a couple AS restarts may be required.

okay, but I can't even access the options...

found a workaround:

manually edit the MSFSOptions.cfg found in ...\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS_FS\Options
and set
ForceDataNetDownloads=0

This appeared to be a transient issue from NOAA data causing downstream processing errors. The problem is no longer apparent.

AS may have a corrupt data set loaded if you had this issue. If you get an error on startup, please attempt a restart, and if the issue persists please try and uninstall/reinstall cycle or you can shut down AS and manually remove all the items in your C:\users\username\HiFi\[product name]\Weather folder and a new weather set will be created. If you need assistance please open a support ticket. Thank you.

Thank you! I’ll give it a go tomorrow as I’m out now. Can someone let me know if it’s correct to have Passive mode set on, MSFS 2024 weather to be just set as Custom Live? I have a ticket open already about this. Thanks

ASFS controls the MSFS weather modes. Passive = MSFS live weather, Active = Custom (and ASFS weather as per your wx config setting).

Thank you! So if I just want AS to enhance live weather and not as a preset thing, is it best to have Passive On and Live Weather set in MSFS? I’ll check it’s working tomorrow and then this post can be archived.

Can confirm, deleting the weather folder and a restart of AS did the job!

Thanks for the prompt assistance and help from community :)
