AS connect problem

I have been having a problem with as connect. I have asp4 installed (this problem started when I installed the program after removing the beta). When I start asp4 it always says "asconnect install/update needed - launch install now" I tell it yes and point it to the correct directory for p3d v4. After it is installed the previous mentioned message is still displayed. It also says I can run it manually. I then start the sim and I get a message when I begin at an airport that says "No as connect log. Asconnect log does not appear to be enabled.

I run everything as admin and gave the user file full access rights. I even excluded the as connect file my antivirus program (AVAST).

It does not appear that the weather is working as the skies are always the same. I do get the message about updated weather in the cockpit.

The next time I start my computer and sim I start all over with the above messages and problems.

Also - for some reason when I tell as connect to install again I have to point the path to v4 (it has the path to p3d v3). I removed active sky from that version (V3) but it still wants to point to the wrong path. This is strange to me because this program only works with v4.

I am probably doing something wrong but I am at a loss where to go from here.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have had 2 previous versions of active sky and never had a problem until I replaced the beta.

Thanks
Larry

I had done that at least twice, but I did it again and reinstalled with the download you provided - with the same results.

It seems like it doesn't find as connect even after just installing it.

Larry

I subsequently uninstalled ASP4 and as_connect. I then deleted anything and everything starting with as_ (except aerosoft and aerosim) from the registry. I reinstalled ASP4 from the link you provided. Everything installed ok until I got to as_connect - then the same issues come up as previously noted.

Larry

Just went into general options in asp4 and checked the path listed to sim and it was set to P3D v3 for some reason. I changed it to the path for v4 and all appears to work now. I will restart weather and sim after this flight and see if it stays fixed.

Thanks
Larry

Hi Johnny,

Are you having an issue with AS_Connect and Xgauge or just Xgague? If you are just having an Xgague issue please read the AS Client manual Xgague section and make sure you are running through the process properly. If you continue to have issues please create a new thread or feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature below.

Thanks!

have problems whit as connect AND xgauge.

i installed manually the xgauge in panel.cfg from pmdg 737 and it shows in vehicle/instruments panels. but the screen is BLACK
no button ,, nothing ,
and i found out that all panel.cfg files are ALL READ ONLY, so that's why as16 can't install them.
so i choose properties on the map "aircraft" chose below advance by read only, enabled "ready for archiving" (tick it on).
press ok .. press apply, now get a second screen en press again OK . now all file that where read only, ar now writable.
now i tried to install the xgauge via as16 and now it install OK . no error.

i think why the xgauge screen is black because as onnect is not enabled.
like i said before. i get an error when starting the sim, asconnect logging does not appear to be enabled....

done all the permisions. admins even added some users that were not on some map permissions.
firewall all ok. and still not enabled..

have a question about that.
p3d v4 is a 64bit program . than why as16 install all in x86 in stead of x64 ?

Hello,

If you are using P3Dv4 you MUST use ASP4 (64 bit), AS165 WILL NOT WORK with P3Dv4, it is for earlier versions of P3D and FSX ONLY. Please ensure you have the correct version installed for your version of Flight Simulator and then try again. It sounds like you are trying to use AS16 with P3Dv4 with will not work, you must use ASP4.

Thnaks.
