Question Can the P3Dv5 sky be made darker?

Concorde is an aircraft I fly a lot. Its maximum altitude is 60,000ft. At that altitude the sky is virtually black according to the flight crews and lucky passengers.

This link is to my post on Avsim of the FS Labs Concorde around 57,000ft. in P3D v5.3HF2. Does anyone know of any tweaks to further darken the skies? I'm using ASP3D with ASCA but stick with the recommended Global Automatic setting.

Have you tried the ASCA Art Tools?
You can create your own custom Dynamic Sky Color Textures for use with ASCA.

I haven't tried it yet actually but it should be pretty easy.
Instructions are in the User Docs.
You also need some documentation from the FSX/P3D SDK.

It sounded fairly straightforward until you mentioned documentation from the FSX/P3D SDK. :(

Thanks Dave. A look through the SDK didn’t immediately point me to what section I need. World I would have guessed. Perhaps it will become clearer after looking at the User Docs.

Hi Dave, I've had a read of the ASCA docs and I fear it's something beyond my capabilities/ I searched for alternatives and ENVTEX was suggested. This would appear to do what I need plus offering other improvements.

Thoughts?

I use ENVTEX actually. Probably why I never used the Art Tools.
It should not be to hard to find the info in the SDK. Too bad there isn't a PDF though to make it easier.
I have the Concorde installed but have still yet to find time to learn it.

Hi Dave, I think I’ll opt for ENVTEXT. It’s clearly aimed at those lacking the skills to do it all manually.

I’m fine with Concorde Ii you want any help. I rarely fly the official routes preferring shorter custom ones. One favourite is Oslo, Norway to Heathrow. Around 1h 10m at FL580 Mach 2.

PM me if you want any help and I’ll give you my email address. One way of repaying you for AS. :D
