Fsx Steam and ASConnect error

Apologies if this has been posted but I have searched Google and the forums and have not found a solution. Active Sky worked on my old PC and still does, but when installing it onto a new PC I'm getting these errors.


I have tried to install the simconnect from the stream folder with FSX but the last one I think of the 3 or 4 is the XPACK which pops up briefly and closes.
Could any give me pointers to where this old man is going wrong please? Happy to send more info if needed.

Hello,

The SP2/XPack installer must be selected. Have you tried running it as an administrator when installing it? Antivirus might also be an issue; you may have to exclude the ASN folder and associated SimConnect library (in UserName\AppData\Roaming\... FSX from being scanned.

Ah hello, yeah ran as admin, turned off anti virus etc and I'm pretty sure I have blocked the download folder and the folder where my flight stuff resides. I will recheck and double check that's been done, should I still have troubles I will start a support ticket.

I posted in the hope I wouldn't have to do a ticket as this would have been already mentioned before and someone had an easy fix.

You’re welcome, are all programs on the same drive? I exclude everything in Win Defender or AV associated to the flight simulator. Good luck.

Are you running Windows 11?

ASNext is not compatible with W11.

Windows 11 home, so I take it I have a weather program I wont be able to use?

ASNext is a discontinued product and is not compatible with Windows 11
AS16 is compatible with Windows 11.
