Installation Message - Resolution Settings and/or FSX.cfg TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD

Hi all, I purchased and installed AS16 and ASCA last night. One of the last messages that came up during installation was to ensure proper weather (or cloud) display was to edit my FSX.cfg TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD or the resolution settings. After dealing with a number of addons during the years that one threw me. I don't see any details in the manual about it.

I look forward to an explanation of this interesting animal.

Thanks! :D

Hello,

Were you installing the HD ASCA textures?

Now that I think about it. I went to install the HD textures prior to prior to ASCA, and I got a message that I had to install ASCA before I could install the HD. So, I cancelled that process and installed ASCA. I never did go back and install the HD yet. So, now I'm not sure when the message came up!

I guess my question would be then, if I go to install the HD Textures and get that message, what am I supposed to do?

Thanks!

David,

The prompt about the texture_max_load setting also has a question and YES/NO option to automatically apply the texture_max_load increase. Pressing YES would take care of it and stop showing that message when you go to change resolution options. If that's not happening for you, there may be an issue with your .cfg file preventing proper auto edits, and you could manually adjust the TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD option in your .cfg file. You could also ignore the message, if you don't mind a downsampling of resolution as indicated. It should only show when you change/save ASCA options and the texture_max_load setting is lower than your chosen texture resolution.

If you need direct assistance please open a ticket at https://support.hifitechinc.com (we could manually edit your .cfg for you if you need).

I appreciate your response and will take a look at it if I decide to install the HD textures.
