If you've tried the latest beta build and the pinned post suggestions and this is still not working right for you, please open a support ticket (http://hifisimtech.zendesk.com) so we can try and work directly with you to ID and resolve the issue. Thank you.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling MSFS. All works now, but prior to uninstalling it, all I could get was clear skies.

Sorry you had to go through that. There may have been some add-on/configuration/installation problem there in the previous installation. Did you try moving all add-on packages out of packages/community folder? Any chance you had another wx-addon installed at some point?

After a brilliant week with hundreds of great screen shots my install stopped injecting completely yesterday. No changes my end. See other post for info.

Disabling the ASFS toolbar item
We have found that when you disable the ASFS toolbar item, and restart MSFS, and or enable/disable and press the blank ASFS unintented ASFS toolbar button, this can result in our toolbar javascript code being disabled. We were not aware of this situation until recently. Thank you for the report. We are working on a resolution to prevent disabling of our toolbar code regardless of the user setting, to prevent confusion. We advise to NOT disable the ASFS toolbar item, and if you do, a subsequent session of MSFS/ASFS could result in no weather depiction. Please re-enable to toolbar button if disabled, and restart MSFS, then avoid disabling the button in the future, to establish proper ASFS weather depiction. Thank you.

Other weather add-ons
We have been notified of incompatibility between other weather add-ons causing issues here. Please deactivate any other wx-addon (remove from community folder) to enable ASFS to operate correctly. You must manually remove the other weather add-on community folder items, as we have confirmed that at least one weather add-on does not remove this on uninstall, and without removing this, it will block other toolbar add-ons including ASFS.

Toolbar mods/addons

If you are using certain toolbar mod/add-ons, this may not be compatible with ASFS at this time. It can block all ASFS weather control in the sim. If you are having weather depiction issues and use such addons, please disable it until we can establish compatibility. Thank you.

Note: Parallel 42's Flow is compatible with ASFS. Please make sure you have the latest FLOW update as the older versions are not compatible. Many other toolbar mods are compatible.

We are aware of Notoolbarhandle mod causing the issues at this time. It may be isolated only to this one.
(This is resolved in the newer beta builds)

Dual sim install issue
Additionally, we have found that when a user has (or had) both Store and Steam versions of MSFS installed, ASFS can identify and choose the wrong community folder to install into (the unintended version of MSFS). This also results in no weather depiction by ASFS. The workaround here is to manually move/copy the ASFS folder in your community folder (in the wrong sim location) to the correct community folder for the intended sim installation. We are working on a rapid resolution for this. (This is resolved in the newer beta builds)
Hi

Im on the Beta 8888 and I dont see this ASFS button anymore, I may have accidently switched it off before upgrading to the Beta, I seem to have weather though when ASFS is running, any way i can check, i dont see the ASFS icon in the toolbar anymore even when i go to add new icons to the toolbar so i have no way of checking if its disabled or not

Several ways of checking if AFSF is injecting. My simple one is : Load sim and plane press 'B' to set altimeter to current pressure altitude. Make ANY change in ASFS app, like custom weather or change historical to any other day. Refresh. Go back to sim and press B again. If altimeter shows different reading (more than 1 or 2 diff) then it is DEFINITELY working! The PA setting will also show in ASFS/briefing so should match up with plane in sim. I find this more definitive than looking at clouds lol.

Damian, was reading this thread and curious about the FlowPro widget and ASFS. Anything to be concerned about? I am running the April 30th release of FlowPro 2024.18.2.19 and ASFS Open Beta B8927. Sorry to ask, as I know it must be incredibly difficult tracking all the compatibility conflicts.

We don't have any known issues with Flow or any other Parallel 42 add-on. In fact, we worked with them to implement their recommended open interop integration with toolbar add-ons to ensure compatibility.

Are you having any problems with instant weather changes or failure of weather to depict at all?

Its funny you mention instant weather changes. I had a dramatic instant weather shift yesterday in B8926 that was nuts in the PMDG 738 at KIAH. First time I have ever seen it in any of the releases. Airspeed went from 175 to 35 almost instantaneously. I flew two more flights in the Texas area with widely scattered TSRA, never happened again. Just flew a flight in B8927, it was flawless.

Screenshot just after things went nuts. Note the groundspeed, 35kts. May have been some wake turbulence blend from the A320 ahead but he was higher and on arrival to KIAH. Wind from FMS is at 000/000 right at event. Was odd, probably a fluke. B8926, SU15, PMDG 738. I'm a rated pilot (non-ATP), so generally know what I am doing on aircraft config. Had just run the after takeoff checklist to turn off the auto brakes and gear hydaulics, retracted flaps 1 notch.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I am MSFS2020, on the latest ASFS recommended release, none of the add-ons listed installed, no other weather add-ons, ASFS active mode, and only on the past two production releases I am getting horrible wind shifts and I mean from 120 headwind to 100 tailwind in a second, major barometer shifts at cruise altitude causing the plane to either overspeed massively or almost stall while jumping or dropping by 1,000 feet. I am also getting clouds popping in and out and I "thought" itr was only during Oceanic but now it is happening over Europe and Asia as well...
Please advise.
Thank you!

I'll add to this as something weird happened on my 777 flight yesterday, soon after updating to new ASFS version.
Was cruising 38000 at 280 ias suddenly whole bunch of alarms went off and plane was doing 350 plus way into red on ticker tape plane climbing 3000ft pm and idle to slow down. Later during descent the opposite happened. Was same ias and plane just nose dived almost a stall with 150 ias.
Once below 10k all was good but pretty much ruined the flight vibe!
PMDG 777 had update at same time as ASFS so wasnt sure whether to mention it but post above made me want to add my experience.

Has happened to me on 2 flights with PMDG 777 in MSFS2020. I had been using Active Sky Preset Control, assuming it was AS equivalent of live weather and having no issues: temps and winds aloft seemed to match real world. Then I experienced the mentioned issue. Suddenly everything sheared from 150K tailwind over Japan to 6K headwind and temps and pressure defaulted to STP. It seemed that weather injected had suddenly stopped functioning. I tried to reselect RW in simulator but it kept defaulting to off. I had to shutdown AS addon in order to reset to Realworld weather and continue my flight. This happened again on my next flight. These were long flights and first segments worked without incident but toward the middle of the flght the glitching occurred. On my subsequent flghts I have selected Live Weather "passive" depiction mode and not had any incidents, but obviously this is preventing all the features of the program. I am particularly interested in the in-cloud turbulence simulation that AS provides. Have I lost that by switching to "passive"?

Hello,
MSFS 2024. AS 9115 is installed. Says MSFS connected. AS set to historical dynamic mode/August. It is January where I fly from. No change in the sim, for weather. No addons in the community folder, only ASFS. Live weather turned off in MSFS. ASFS checked in toolbar. When looking at weather tool in sim, still shows January date. Real time is checked, greyed out. Again, live weather is off.
Could you please help me with getting this to work.
Thanks
