P3D v4.5 AS+ASCA+Envtex. No clouds are displayed outside starting point

Hi all,

I have faced with a following problem: wheather is not displayed correctly outside of starting point. So with more details:
1. I'm starting p3d and select any airport, e.g. PANC. Wheather is displayed correctly (clouds, precipitation, visibility, etc)
2. I have clouds draw distance = 200 nm
3. When i'm flying outside of this range all wheather except visibility is not displayed, no clouds or precipitation at any altitude.

Could you please advise what might be a problem here?
Additional details:
1. I have tried to restart AS - no changes
2. E.g. i do a flight PANC-KSEA. No wheather is Seattle as described above when I'm arriving. But if i choose "new scenario" and set KSEA as an airport, wheather displayed correctly.

Please let me know in case of any additional details required. (sim, AS versions, hardware, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

From the User Documentation Page 73 regarding Cloud Draw Distance which you have set too high.

  • Minimum cloud draw distance
  • The minimum cloud draw distance to be set by ASP4. Used together with the maximum cloud draw distance. If the two values are different, then the application, based on altitude, amount of clouds present, and visibility, adjusts the actual cloud draw distance within the simulator, to keep a balance between performance and range of clouds drawn. Use values larger than 150 at your own risk. Can have a dramatic performance penalty at higher cloud draw distance ranges.
  • Using CDD ranges larger than 150 miles can cause issues with cloud depiction and radar imagery, and can become more significant when using time acceleration.
  • When using a networked configuration, larger cloud draw distance settings will require significantly more network bandwidth and speed to supply associated detailed radar data. A minimum of 100Mb/sec available network speed is recommended for values above 120.
  • Default: 90
