Simbrief Weather Upload Issue

Hi,

I updated to the new beta, 9683, for MSFS 2024. I am now having an issue where I am unable to upload historical weather data to Simbrief.

Using the Upload Active Sky Weather from the Simbrief Downloader task bar menu gives an error message: "ERROR: Could not determine the Active Sky mode." The process then quits.

If I try to start the process from the Simbrief website, telling the site to upload new Active Sky weather data, I get a message stating that I need to put ASFS in the Historical Weather mode (which it already is) and it asks me if I want to switch ASFS to the current time, but in historical weather mode. I select yes, and the ASFS Date and Time for the weather change, but Simbrief again fails to get any data.

Did something change in this new version? It was working before.

Hi, no changes related to simbrief on our end. Which MSFS version? Official or beta?

I'm on the official version of MSFS 2024. You're able to upload historical weather to Simbrief through the Downloader app or through the Simbrief web interface? I have tried uninstalling ASFS and reinstalling it. It seemed like a clean install, since it asked me for my key again and I had to set all my options again. Is there a way to make sure it's a complete reinstall?

The simbrief historical data usage uses our existing API, and we are not involved in the development or support of that simbrief feature. We don't specifically test all the integrated add-ons using AS API. Nothing has been intended to be changed regarding the API or related things that should affect this.

It's possible there's an issue with Simbrief itself, and that should be explored with them. We don't have any other reports of issues at this time.

You also may wish to roll back to the latest official ASFS version to rule out an issue with our new beta.

To obtain a completely fresh installation the steps are to uninstall ASFS, and remove all saved data when prompted, then reinstall.

I clean uninstalled ASFS and reinstalled the newest version. Same issue. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the Simbrief Downloader. Same Issue.

Then I installed the latest stable version of ASfS (9495) and immediately, the historical upload function worked again for sending weather data to Simbrief.
