Stutters problems with Active Sky

Since the MSFS24 SU5 update, Active Sky takes much longer to load weather data—causing the flight to freeze (20-30sec)—and subsequently causes regular, brief stutters during the flight. Each of these stutters is accompanied by vertical shaking of the aircraft or helicopter I am flying. Active Sky worked perfectly before this update, but since SU5, I can no longer use it if I want a smooth flight experience. Have other users encountered this kind of issue?

Hello, and thanks for the link (which I assumed was the beta version). Once installed, the problem was almost completely resolved. Retrieving weather data at the start is fast again, just like before, and the minor stutters have been significantly reduced. However, they haven't disappeared entirely. Basically, every 8–9 seconds, the image freezes briefly (lasting less than a second). It’s not a major issue, but it is somewhat annoying since the experience is no longer perfectly smooth; the flight feels "choppy." Naturally, it gets worse when flying near areas where I’ve added detailed airport add-ons.

Are you using a security software solution other than built-in windows? If so, make sure everything MSFS and AS related is "excluded/allowed" to prevent any excessive scanning, which may explain what is happening here. There's no CPU-intensive process in ASFS but excessive scanning has been identified in the past by such 3rd party security software.

I’m familiar with this problem as well. For me, the stuttering occurs whenever the humidity changes or the visibility changes. For example, I take off from Hanover; it’s foggy, so visibility is low. As I climb through the fog, visibility increases, and you can see how the color of the atmosphere changes—the blue tint becomes more pronounced—and visibility improves. So it seems that whenever the visibility changes (or the humidity changes, or the atmosphere changes), this stuttering occurs.

FWIW I still use this specific Nvidia Driver across all Sims with Ultra settings in 20 and 24.
